Studio Kroner presents INTERSECTION: Recent Works by Michael Roller & Roy Robinson

Studio Kroner invites you to join us for the Opening Reception for “INTERSECTION,” a captivating two-person show featuring talented Cincinnati artist/designers Michael Roller and Roy Robinson. This exhibition explores the fascinating convergence of art and design, showcasing the unique perspectives of these visionary creators.

About the Artists: 

ROY ROBINSON, an accomplished architect, explores spatial relationships through captivating abstract fine art. Influenced by his background in architecture and design, Robinson’s work delves into intangible themes like beauty, urgency, ambiguity, and transcendence. By skillfully combining contrasting elements, his compositions prompt viewers to reflect on the dynamic interplay between black and white, light, and dark, minimalism and excess, control, and chaos, as well as the rational and the organic. These thought-provoking pieces serve as metaphysical data, providing glimpses into profound questions about life and personal experiences.

MICHAEL ROLLER, an abstract artist based in Cincinnati, brings his expertise in industrial design to his artistic endeavors. Roller’s creative process combines structure and improvisation, resulting in abstract compositions inspired by digital culture. Layering acrylic paints, he carefully constructs each artwork, incorporating small rectangles, parallel lines, and intersecting curves as recurring motifs. Influenced by personal memories, artifacts, and emotions, his paintings offer a window into his unique relationship with the world. Roller’s body of work explores the intersection between design and abstract art, striking a balance between control and spontaneity.
