The Cincinnati Community Orchestra will present a program of works inspired by Shakespeare’s plays on Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 PM. Shakespeare’s plays have inspired some of the best-loved works in the orchestral repertoire and the Cincinnati Community Orchestra presents two classics, Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture and Mendelssohn’s incidental music to A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Featured on the program is the rarely heard Othello Suite by Samuel Coleridge Taylor, the 19th century Black British composer known in his time as the “Black Mahler.” The CCO performs at Church of the Savior United Methodist, 8005 Pfeiffer Rd. Concert and parking are free. For the health and safety of the musicians and listeners, audience members are requested to wear masks in the concert space.
