Rock historian Scott Lipscomb and Cincinnati Opera’s Evans Mirageas compare and contrast Pink Floyd’s legendary 1979 album The Wall and our upcoming U.S. premiere opera Another Brick in the Wall.
Join Cincinnati Opera’s Evans Mirageas and Scott Lipscomb, published rock historian and University of Cincinnati CCM’s Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, as they discuss the music of Pink Floyd’s 1979 iconic album The Wall. Explore how Cincinnati Opera’s U.S. premiere of Another Brick in the Wall will incorporate many of the original musical and dramatic themes of the album, as well as how the opera will offer its own unique retelling of the semi-autobiographical story of isolation and abandonment. Lipscomb will also offer a perspective on Roger Waters’s solo career since Pink Floyd, including his recent world tour and activism.
