Revolution Dance Theatre Presents “BLACKOUT”: A Fusion of Hip Hop, Ballet, and Black Culture

Revolution Dance Theatre (RDT), in collaboration with David Choate Productions, proudly announces “BLACKOUT,” a groundbreaking performance that seamlessly fuses hip hop, ballet, and celebrates Black culture. The event will take center stage at the prestigious Aronoff Center.

Scheduled for February 24 at 8:00pm, “BLACKOUT” is a unique collaboration that brings together the extraordinary talents of Revolution Dance Theatre’s dancers and the iconic Siri Imani. Known for her prowess as a singer, songwriter, poet, emcee, and cultural curator, Siri Imani takes the spotlight in this exhilarating celebration.

“BLACKOUT” is not just a performance; it’s an immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of artistic expression. Siri Imani, who has been a notable force in producing other artists, steps into the limelight for a captivating display of talent and cultural resonance.

David Choate, Artistic and Executive Director of Revolution Dance Theatre, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “BLACKOUT represents a fusion of diverse artistic elements that transcends traditional boundaries. It’s a celebration of the vibrant intersections between hip hop, ballet, and the richness of Black culture.”

The performance promises a dynamic blend of choreography, music, and spoken word that reflects the power, resilience, and creativity of Black artists. Revolution Dance Theatre, as Cincinnati’s first African American Professional Ballet company in residence at the Aronoff Center, continues to redefine the landscape of performing arts in the region.
